Justice + Java: Supporting Immigrant Women and the Work of The Brave House
September 24, 2026 | BELONG NYC, Manhattan

Immigrant women’s safety and stability depend on the people who show up for them.

Deepti Sharma delivered the keynote at Justice + Java, a breakfast event hosted by The Brave House, the New York City nonprofit that provides free legal and holistic advocacy to young immigrant women, including help with asylum, deportation defense, work permits, and green cards. Speaking to supporters, partners, and community members, Deepti focused on the experiences of immigrant women and why organizations like The Brave House need our support.

She joined a lineup of featured speakers that included Yaniel Wynter and Lauren Blodgett, Co-Executive Directors; Melissa Peterson, Managing Attorney; and a Brave House alumna, who together discussed the importance of supporting immigrants and what we can do to help.
