Her Impact: Women Driving Change Stony Brook University

Her Impact: Women Driving Change Stony Brook University — SAC Ballroom B, Stony Brook, New York

What does it actually take to create change — not in theory, but in your community, your city, your life?

At Stony Brook University's Her Impact: Women Driving Change panel, hosted in celebration of Women's History Month, Deepti Sharma joined a conversation designed to meet students exactly where they are — curious, eager, and looking for a roadmap.

As a panelist, Deepti spoke candidly about the moments that catalyzed her own activism, what it looked like to build community around shared purpose during some of New York City's hardest moments, and how she has navigated systems — from food insecurity to local government — that were not built with women like her in mind.

The conversation covered what mentorship really looks like, how to sustain meaningful engagement without burning out, and what she would tell any woman who feels called to lead but doesn't yet see herself in the rooms where decisions get made.

Now more than ever, students are looking for ways to remain engaged and understand where they can make an impact. Her Impact was built for exactly that.
